Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
@2 wks ago, I lifted and carried several heavy concrete blocks and a piece of slate slab. @30 hrs later and quite often since, I experience sharp stabbing pain radiating down the right groin. Not an area I can effectively apply ice for pain and inflation, nor heat for muscle pain. I have 500 mg naproxen for recurrent LBP. Also have 50 mg tramadol from a recent surgery. I was thinking just a pulled groin muscle. Pain has not subsided and is at times debilitating - I literally am frozen in mid stride in agony! Could this be tendon or ligament damage? NSAIDS and refrain from heavy lifting. What else can I do?
This looks like you. Have some disk prolapse in the spine which is causing impingement of the nerve that the spine. Your recurrent Bach pain is also suggestive of that. This problem is some. times worsened by lifting heavy weights and that what very likely happened to you.
Besides NSAIDs and muscle relaxant, there is a great rile for physiotherapy. That is an adopting certain posture and avoiding other. So in would suggest you should seek help of a physiotherapist. Urgent care is needed if there is any weakness in the limb.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
